Beaver Creek Fire

The Beaver Creek Fire is located approximately 24 miles Northwest of Walden, Colorado. It was originally detected on June 19th. The fire is burning in heavy beetle killed timber. The infested trees are subject to blowing over which is making the forest unsafe for firefighters. The incident management team is allowing the natural process occur with this fire and focusing resources of the values at risk. This strategy provides firefighter safety and the protection of life and property.

This fire is now at 24,798 acres and 5% containment. there are 287 personnel on scene. These numbers are as of July 18th at 6:55 am.
The continued plan of actions is monitoring and patrolling 600 Road structures. Any management action points that are triggered will be implemented. Structure protection in Big Creek Lake and Parson’s Draw Area. Indirect line construction and possible aerial and hand ignitions.
