The Hayden Pass Fire is located 3 miles Southwest of Coaldale, Colorado. It was started by a lightning strike on July 8th. The fire is burning in Timber and heavy logging slash.
There are 908 personnel on site. 16,414 Acres have burned, 30% containment.
Expected activity includes spread to Rainbow Lake, Brush Creek and Wulsten Baldy in the Sangre de Creisto Wilderness. Continued action includes direct line construction and mop up in the Big Cottonwood to Lake Creek area. The Incident Management Team will continue to limit the impact to the traffic on Hwy 50.
